Cover Me: My Life As A White Trash Zombie
So while creating the new releases list yesterday, I came across this cover for My Life as A White Trash Zombie by Diana Rowland:
Admittedly, I am not the target audience for this book, as I don't read much urban fantasy...and have no interest in the zombie or vampire novels that seem to be popping up in increasing numbers on bookshelves. I'm an epic/high fantasy guy myself. But still. Those of you who like zombie novels and "funny" covers: do this cover appeal to you? Does it make you want to pick up the book and see what is inside?
For me..when I first saw it, I thought it had to be a self-published book (seriously). So my first thought was it looked amatuerish. Second thought when I found it was from a major publisher: trying too hard to be edgy.
And yes, the title of this blog post is a Springsteen reference. I thought "Cover Me" was a good title for posts about cover art, and since it references the Boss, even better.
